Community Surveys
Why Conduct a Community Survey?
Community Needs Assessment: What are the gaps in the service needs of the community? How have the demographics of the community changed? How do these demographic changes affect the need for services in the community?
Long-range and/or short-term planning: What are the things that residents value most about the community? What are their greatest concerns? What do they most want to see in the future?
Policy Options: What do the citizens think about the options the elected officials are considering? What is most important? Least important?
Service and Community Evaluation: How satisfied are residents with the current services? Are they working well? Not working well? How can they be improved?
Taking the Pulse of the Community: Well-prepared and administered surveys convey the message to the public "We care about your opinions, please tell us what you think." They provide invaluable input into the public planning process.
